Please welcome Dr. Joanna to the Active team!

Dr. Joanna attended Brock University where she was the athletic trainer for the men’s varsity volleyball team.  After completion of her degree she headed to Illinois to attend National University of Health Sciences, obtaining her Doctorate in Chiropractic.

Dr. Joanna’s nearly ten years of experience have allowed her to gain a vast knowledge in gait training and sports injuries.  During her practice time in the U.S., Dr. Joanna gained experience working with near infrared light therapy; a modality used to reduce pain, promote tissue recovery, increase circulation, and speed healing and recovery time.  Dr. Schultz has seen phenomenal results with helping to return athletes back to their sport quickly and has brought this unit with her to use in her treatment plans with patients at Active Sport & Health Centre.

Dr. Schultz specializes in both sports injuries and pediatrics, and has completed over 5 years of post-graduate educational training in these areas in the U.S.  Her specialty lies in helping to return triathletes and marathoners to their endurance events quickly and she enjoys the challenge of working with patients that present with difficult lower extremity cases. She has worked with professional figure skaters, LPGA players, professional cyclists, Ironman competitors, Illinois fire departments, local run clubs, and amateur athletes.

Dr. Schultz is a member of the following organizations: Ontario Chiropractic Association, Canadian Chiropractic Association, American Board of Sports Physicians, ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics.  She is welcoming new patients at Active on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
